Hoppin - A Leisure Activity Explorer

Mobile App Design

A thoughtfully crafted mobile app that enables users to discover and book local leisure experiences with ease, without requiring an account.

My Key Contributions:

Led visual design as the UI Designer on a 4-person team

Created high-fidelity wireframes using accessible, modern UI elements

Coordinated team timelines and deliverables as Project Coordinator

Designed with a clean white base, deep plum CTAs, and peach accents for clarity and contrast

Tools used: Figma, Google Forms, Google Docs, Google Sheets

Penny Juice Website Audit

UX Audit + Visual Redesign

Evaluated the outdated and inaccessible Penny Juice website targeted at childcare centers and proposed improvements backed by competitor research.

My Key Contributions:

Conducted heuristic evaluation of Penny Juice and Mott’s websites

Compared visual hierarchy, readability, and user flow with Mott’s and Capri Sun

Identified major usability issues: poor contrast, cluttered layout, unclear branding

Created a low-fidelity homepage wireframe with improved structure and clarity

Language Learning App – User Research

UX Research

Conducted a 9-part survey to explore user motivations, goals, and frustrations around language learning apps.

My Key Contributions:

Designed and distributed survey (20+ responses) using TypeForm

Analyzed user preferences, challenges, and behavior patterns

Identified key motivators: consistency tracking, progress visualization, and variety in practice methods

Built 2 user personas and respective empathy maps to inform design decisions

E-Commerce Card Sorting

Information Architecture

Conducted a card sorting exercise to improve navigation and category structure for a tech e-commerce platform, supported by competitor analysis.

My Key Contributions:

Ran an open card sorting activity to uncover user mental models

Analyzed navigation patterns and product categorization on Best Buy, LG, and Samsung websites

Identified inconsistent terminology and overlapping product categories

Proposed a simplified, user-centered navigation structure and top-level site map

Tools used: Figma, Canva, Lucid

Travel Website – Sitemap Redesign

Information Architecture & User Flows

Restructured the sitemap of a travel planning website based on UX analysis and best practices from leading platforms.

My Key Contributions:

Analyzed TripAdvisor’s sitemap to evaluate industry-standard navigation patterns

Identified areas for improvement in content structure and user task flows

Created a custom site hierarchy for a travel website with simplified page groupings
